Dubai, February 2: ‘Yuva Prathiba/Melody Star’ Maxim Pereira Anjelore’s ‘Maxim Live in Concert’ (MLC) along with top artistes of G-major Anjelore rocked Dubai audience with their spell bound four and half-hours’ non-stop entertainment programme. The ticketed show in association with Maestro Events was held at Emirates Theatre, Jumeirah on Friday, February 1.
Philanthropist/businessman/singer-cum-actor Joseph Mathias, MD of Merit Freight Systems Co LLC hosted the event single handedly and recorded success. He had promoted Maxim Pereira’s several events and films in the past and had whole heartedly supported various Konkani/Tulu/Kannada events for the past several years in the Arabian Gulf and India.
The programme started at around 5.45 pm with introduction of magician Antony Mascarenhas who enthralled the audience with his tricks.
Guests Jacinta Mendonca, Shobha Mendonca, Veronica Alva, Flavia Mathias, Lavina D’Souza, Nisha Pereira officially inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp.
The formal stage programme continued with Arthur Pereira’s Maa Creation and Lloyd Rego Thakode’s ‘Jezu Muja Moga’ CD release. Joseph Mathias escorted James Mendonca and Dayan D’Souza who did the honours. Alwyn Noronha Bajpe's 'Kavanam Zalim Gayonam - Bhangramani 2' was released by Alwyn Pinto and Sabitha Mathias. Orson D’Souza’s ‘Awesome Orson – MiiYa More’ CD was released by patron of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha Mark Denis and producer of Tulu Movie Ronald Martis. On the same stage musician/producer Canute Mathias’s CD was also released. Keerthan was introduced by Maxim Pereira and the entire formal stage programme was ably conducted by MC Vernon D’Souza and the entertainment programme was compered by MC Roshan D’Silva Vamanjoor.
MC Roshan introduced Joseph Mathias and team who rendered a beautiful number ‘Rome Sheher’, followed by Dony and Asha Correa’s ‘Ho Eklo Cholo Choli’ and Anson-Sabitha duo sang ‘Moghachi Dhaag’. Baby Tiana’s ‘Ut Munshya Poile’ was applauded by the audience. Priya Menezes sang ‘Mogache Yene’, Maxim sang ‘Tuka Muji Rani Kartha’, Preema sang ‘Tuttlem Sopan’, Joseph and Dony sang ‘Dony Duje’, Sabitha sang ‘Ye Rasnara’ and Melwyn’s ‘Joylina’ got a thunderous response from the crowd.
Maxim’s ‘Manasa’ was another beautiful number well presented with the dance and appreciated by the audience. This was followed by the number ‘Dolly’ by Anil, ‘Mogache Geet’ by Anson, ‘Marghai’ by Joseph Mathias, ‘Mog Udtha Maka’ by Melwyn and Priya, ‘Maina’ by Canute Mathias who revealed that this song was penned by Maxim to his wife Nisha.
‘Zodyabes Lagnacho’ by Anil and Preema was another beautiful number followed by ‘Kapad’ melodiously rendered by Joseph Mathias, Maxim Pereira and Dony Correa.
In between the singing and in right intervals were 3 beautifully enacted comedy acts by ‘Sangon Mugdana Kalakar’ team comprising of multi-talented crew Lavina Fernandes, Godwin Castelino, Roystan Pereira, Paul D’Souza Paladka and Venetia Rodrigues which was brilliantly presented and was ably supported by Rohan with background Music.
‘V Dynamites’ dance crew headed by the very famous Vinod Sequeira, ingested richness to the singers’ performances with their well-choreographed dances suiting the lyrics of the songs. Their final presentation, a Bollywood dance was breathtaking.
Roshan D’Souza Angelore was the music arranger and along with him the teams of G-major artistes were honoured on the stage. All the performers and the MC’s were individually honoured and felicitated. There was a surprise felicitation to Joseph Mathias and he became emotional while accepting the honour. He spoke well and thanked all those who have supported him in this venture.
Outside the venue was tasty savory food stall with variety of Mangalorean delicacies by Dasprakash Restaurant including ‘dukramaas’ and ‘Sanna’.
The programme concluded with Maxim’s famous ‘Baila Boom’ non-stop songs and the crowd cheered and danced all along for 20 minutes until 10.10 pm.
