Mangaluru, Sep 4, 2016 : The Muhurat for the first Konkani-Tulu movie ‘Ashem Zalem Kashem’, produced under Glorious Angelore banner was held at Infant Jesus Shrine premises on Sunday, September 4.
MLA of Mangaluru South constituency JR Lobo gave the first clap and wished good luck for the team.
Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said, “Today many movies are produced in coastal Karnataka which is a good sign. Movies always come with message and are a very good medium to bring change in the society. All people must encourage the movie makers and artists by watching the movie in the theatre. Only then they will be able to produce more and more movies”.
President of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Roy Castelino, who is also one among the advisors for the movie, said, “When Maxim Pereira had approached me for his short film, I had told him just to move forward. Now he has come up with a unique idea and history has been created here as this movie is the first Konkani-Tulu movie. This is a sign of harmony between the two languages and culture. I wish him good luck.”
Assistant director of Infant Jesus shrine, Fr Prakash D’Cunha blessed the movie while Manu Bantwal compered the programme.
The shooting of the movie began with its first scene in the shrine premises and will be shot in various places in city.
Maxim Pereira has written the story of the movie and will direct the movie as well.
The star cast of the movie includes RJ Roopesh Shetty in the lead role with Cynol Menezes accompanied by Ranjitha Louis of Noshibacho Khel fame, Jennifer Fernandes, Rohan and Nikith in the key roles. Along with them the cast includes Umesh Mijar, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Gopinath Bhat, William Pinto Padarengi and Clenvin D'Souza in the supporting roles.
Music for the film is being composed under the directorship of Patson Pereira with the lyrics from Maxim Pereira, Wilson Kateel, and Joe Kulshekar. The associate director of the movie is Kishore Moodbidri while Satvik Hebbar and Sandeep Chandra are assistant directors of the movie.
Roopesh Calicut and Udaya Balla will manage the camera for the movie while veteran dramatist John Permannur has written the screenplay and dialogues for the movie. The production of the movie is managed by Maxim Pereira along with Vincent D'souza, Nithyadar Nagar, Dubai.
William Pinto Padarengi has written Tulu part of the script and Wilfred Pinto has done art work.
Joe Pereira Kuwait, Jossy Sequeira and Manu Bantwal are the advisors of the movie.
The production of the movie is managed by Carol Prem D'souza of Ferns Production Mumbai.
